At the heart of the Jondaryan Woolshed is the museum village. Rich in history with authentic from the original Jondaryan station. The Woolshed itself is an original sheep-shearing shed with a rich history. The Woolshed is the oldest, largest, operating Woolshed, heritage listed, in the World, that still operates.
We used to say the Southern Hemisphere, until our historian, John Eggleston, informed us that Woolshed’s are only predominate in the Southern Hemisphere, unique to countries such as Australia and New Zealand, amongst select others. All this means our Woolshed is truly unique on a global scale!
The Woolshed at Jondaryan is located half way between Toowoomba and Dalby, approximately 30 minutes from either city. Visitors from those cities can easily make the trip in a day. For visitors from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Woolshed is only a 2.5 hour drive.
