Australia Day
Come out into the country and experience how life was in Australia over 100 years ago, and the progress since that time.
The Jondaryan Woolshed is open to all comers to celebrate our shared history on Australia Day – the anniversary of the landing of the First Fleet in Sydney Harbour, in 1788.
The day will be filled with demonstrations and displays that celebrate Australia’s pioneering past – shearing, working horses, steam engines, wool spinning and weaving, old machinery and tractors, blacksmithing and much more. The 11th Light Horse Brigade with Raise the flag and demonstration their prowess also!
There will be some old-time games and activities for kids of all ages, so bring along the family.
The Jondaryan Woolshed is the ideal place to remember our pioneering past, as an icon to the mighty wool industry, with many other parts of the collection touching on other aspects of Australia’s progression over 200 years – farming, transport, homes, horses, and much more.
