Australia Day 2017

26th January 2017

Celebrate Australia Day at the Woolshed at Jondaryan.  Activities available on the day will include a flag raising ceremony, minature steam train rides, whip cracking demonstrations, damper making and horse and cart rides.

Enjoy delicious food at the Woolshed Cafe or Damper Hut with a variety of Australian favourites including the Woolshed burger, lamingtons, scones with jam and cream and pavlova.  

Australia Day Schedule

8.30am – Office opens – GOLD COIN DONATION

8.30am – Woolshed Café and Damper Hut opens

9.00am – Bee Keeping Demonstration at the Honey Hut (Railway station)

9.00am – History Tour leaves from the School House

10.00am – Damper Making Class at the Damper Hut

10.00am – Shearing demo in the Woolshed

10.00am – Unique Australian machinery display using Stump Jump Plough

10.30am – Welcome to the Woolshed at the Flagpole

10.30am – Flag Raising with the Light Horse Brigade at the flagpole

11.00am – Light Horse Brigade display in the Sheep Arena

11.30am – Working Dog Demo and Whip Cracking Demo in the sheep arena

11.45pm to 12.15pm – Thong Throwing Competition

Eat Pie, Drink Beer, Throw Damper Competition

Best Dressed Paul Hogan Competition

12.00pm – Unique Australian machinery display using Stump Jump Plough

1.30pm – Shearing demonstration at the Eastern end of the Woolshed


Throughout the day there will be various displays and demonstrations for your enjoyment

Mini Train Rides at the Station from 10am - 2pm -$2.00

Horse and Cart Rides at the Village Green from 9am as required - $2.00

Blacksmith will be in residence at the Smithy during the day

Machinery Displays from 10am

Cheese Factory Open throughout the day
