Cent Sale to raise funds for the historic Woolshed

The Jondaryan Woolshed is hosting a Cent Sale in February with funds raised earmarked to support special projects that will upgrade and improve the grounds of the historic venue.

Jondaryan Woolshed General Manager, Rebecca Pope says plans are in the works to improve the facilities on offer to visitors and to help maintain the grounds for future generations. 

“As caretakers of one of the region’s historical museums and Australia’s oldest working woolshed, we take our responsibility very seriously. We are working on a number of special projects that we hope will enhance the experience for visitors and preserve the integrity of the grounds,” said Ms Pope.

“Proceeds from the Cent Sale will help to upgrade the animal nursery and bird avery; purchase additional shade and outdoor picnic tables; establish new gardens to attract native wildlife; install efficient watering systems and more,” added Ms Pope.

The community is invited to the fundraising event which will take place on Sunday, 10thFebruary 2019 from 11am to 1pm in the woolshed (via Entrance 2).

“We will have one hundred prizes on offer at our Cent Sale, many of which have been kindly donated by local businesses. They will include hardware, café, butcher and hairdresser gift certificates; pot plants; jewellery; a grocery hamper and more,” said Ms Pope.

“Guests will receive one sheet of tickets and a lucky door ticket for an entry fee of $10. Additional sheets of tickets will be available for purchase and entry includes light refreshments,” said Ms Pope.

Entry is from 9:45am with the draw commencing at 11am sharp. Light refreshments, tea, coffee and cold water will be served at 12:30pm.
