Families have egg-cellent Easter at the Woolshed

More than 3,000 people flocked to the iconic Darling Downs venue, the Jondaryan Woolshed for an action-packed Easter program over the long weekend.

Jondaryan Woolshed General Manager, Rebecca Pope said almost 800 campers celebrated Easter at the Woolshed, in addition to approximately 2,500 other guests.

“We are thrilled with crowd numbers from across our Easter Festival and believe our impressive line-up of activities, classic Australian food and affordable entry fee ticked all of the boxes for families,” said Ms Pope.

“Visitors enjoyed watching traditional demonstrations which included working dogs, shearing, spinning and weaving, milking, rope and whip making, and more,” added Ms Pope.

“The Easter additions to our festival program included a hot cross bun eating competition, grand parade, an egg muster and a visit by the Easter Bunny,” said Ms Pope

The anticipated Easter egg muster was a giant success and the pitter patter of small feet could be heard stampeding across the Bullock Arena. The Easter Bunny arrived in true Woolshed-style on the beloved tractor train.

Woolshed favourites such as the mini trains, the tractor train and the horse and carriage had an eager line of people across the event, as did the fairy floss stand and animal nursery.

“We welcomed a swag of generous volunteers and community groups, including Arabanoo Working Kelpie Stud, Southern Beekeepers Association, the Jondaryan Model Engineers and Live Steamers Inc, Toowoomba Spinners and Weavers, Dalby Pioneer Park Museum and the Toowoomba and District Old Machinery Society,” said Ms Pope.

“Their generous support coupled with our team of dedicated staff was the driving force behind the success of this epic event," added Ms Pope.

The Jondaryan Woolshed will be running their Winter Festival in July. Families are invited to enjoy another action-packed program across four-days.
