A vintage Model A McCormick tractor lovingly restored by the late, Grant Clarson of Biarra and his brother, Barry, is set to feature in the Jondaryan Woolshed Easter Festival next month.

Jondaryan Woolshed General Manager, Rebecca Pope said the tractor had been donated to full-fill Mr Clarson’s wish for it to be preserved and enjoyed by future generations.

“We feel extremely humbled to be the new caretakers of Grant and Barry’s lovingly restored tractor and to provide a home where it can be enjoyed for years to come,” said Ms Pope.

“The beautiful machine will take pride of place at our upcoming Easter Festival, featuring in our vintage tractor display and riding in the Grand Parade which tours the grounds,” added Ms Pope.

Mr Clarson who passed away late last year, and his brother (deceased), restored the tractor to its former glory. A mechanic by trade, he was a loved member of the community and worked for the local Council in Esk for 30 years.

“When Mr Clarson’s family reached out asking if the Jondaryan Woolshed could serve as the tractor’s forever home, we felt honoured to accept,” said Ms Pope.

“As caretakers of one of the region’s iconic, historical museums and Australia’s oldest working woolshed, we take great pride in helping to preserve historical treasures,” said Ms Pope.

“We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Clarson family for entrusting the Jondaryan Woolshed with their beloved possession. It will join a treasured collection of historical  items generously donated from other families across the region,” added Ms Pope.

Mr Clarson’s pride and joy will remain on display at the Jondaryan Woolshed following the Easter Festival, available to view by the public and used during special events and occasions.

“We encourage families, and tractor and history enthusiasts to drop by over the Easter long weekend and see the wonderfully restored tractor riding across the grounds,” said Ms Pope.

The Jondaryan Woolshed Easter Festival will run from midday on Friday, 19th April through to 2pm on Monday, 22nd April. For a complete copy of the event program, click here
